SharePoint in Azure’s Hybrid Cloud
CompartiMOSS is a quarterly magazine with information on SharePoint, in which prominent members of the Hispanic developers’ community can share and exchange specialized knowledge on SharePoint.
In this project, we have provided them with our services to help them support and migrate their web portal based on SharePoint, to a scalable, secure and highly reliable cloud, based on Azure.
More specifically, for CompartiMOSS we have set up a virtualized environment in the On-Premises virtualization cluster of ENCAMINA based on Hyper-V 2012R2 and System Center Virtual Machine Manager 2012 R2.
Through the integration of the Hybrid Cloud that is configured between said cluster and Azure, the solution ‘Azure Site Recovery’ has been configured in such a way that there is a continuous replication of the On-Premises virtual machines towards the Azure tenant. This makes it possible to have a FailOver environment in Azure, which allows the switching of services to the cloud in case of failure or increase in the immediate demand for resources. Once the situation that caused the switching to the cloud has been overcome, a replication is made from Azure to local, followed up with the re-establishment of the On-Premises service.
By taking advantage of our collaboration, both in the design and implementation process of the final architecture, as well as in the migration and on-premises hosting in their own Azure space, the editorial team of CompartiMOSS used this opportunity to improve the service offered by its magazine to its Community.
